Shipping & Delivery
Configure shipping classes, delivery zones, and rates for your store.
Shipping Classes
Shipping classes categorize products for rate calculation:
- Go to Admin → Settings → Shipping Classes
- Create classes like:
| Class | Example Products |
|---|---|
| Standard | Clothing, accessories |
| Heavy | Furniture, equipment |
| Fragile | Glass, electronics |
| Digital | Downloads (no shipping) |
Assign products to shipping classes in the product editor.
Delivery Zones
Delivery zones define geographic areas and available shipping methods:
- Go to Admin → Settings → Delivery Zones
- Create a zone (e.g., "Nairobi Metro")
- Define locations within the zone (city, state, country, postal code)
- Add shipping methods (pickup, local delivery, courier)
- Set class-based pricing for each method
Shipping Methods
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Pickup | Customer collects from your location |
| Local Delivery | Deliver within the zone |
| Courier | Third-party courier service |
| Flat Rate | Fixed price regardless of weight/class |
Class-Based Pricing
For each shipping method, you can set per-class prices:
Standard class × Courier method: $5.00
Heavy class × Courier method: $15.00
Fragile class × Courier method: $10.00
Checkout Data
Delivery settings are exposed via GraphQL as a flattened checkout query:
{ checkoutData { countries citiesByCountry deliveryTypes { zoneId methodId label basePrice classPrices conditions estMinDays estMaxDays } } }
This returns all zones, methods, and class prices in a single response — efficient for the checkout page.
API Access
Delivery settings support public API key access for checkout pages via GraphQL:
POST /api/v1/graphql
Header: X-Store-API-Key: sk_live_...
Body: {"query": "{ checkoutData { countries citiesByCountry deliveryTypes { zoneId methodId label basePrice classPrices conditions estMinDays estMaxDays } } }"}
This allows your storefront to calculate shipping rates at checkout without requiring user authentication.
